These technologies include molecular genetics, statistical genetics and bio-informatics, reproduction technology and breeding information technology. The Centre runs collaborative projects with major academic institutions and companies around the world.

Institut de Sélection Animale (ISA) is the layer breeding division of Hendrix Genetics.

ISA delivers Grand Parent Stock (GPS) and Parent Stock (PS) to the worldwide layer market, from production centers on four continents.

The company supplies a wide range of layer genetics to satisfy all the needs and wishes of the market and has a world-wide market share of 48%. ISA employs 342 people spanning 20 different nationalities and serves the world’s egg industry in over 80 countries. 

The breeding farms and genetic departments are concentrated in France, Canada and The Netherlands.

ISA markets its products under the  brand names ISA, Babcock, Shaver, Hisex, Bovans and Dekalb; they are recognized for their high production of prime quality table eggs. All six brands are available in both white and brown. Shaver and Bovans are also available as black feathered birds laying brown eggs. Due to their extended gene pool, ISA is also able to create genetic solutions for specific market needs and conditions: examples are ISA Warren and Dekalb Amberlink.
