Livestock Research
Wageningen University and Research Centre WUR provides education and generates knowledge in the field of life sciences and natural resources. WUR is a collaboration between Wageningen University, Van Hall Larenstein School of Higher Professional Education and the specialised former research institutes DLO from the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture.
WUR is subdivided into 5 Science Groups, one of which is the Livestock Research group (formerly Animal Sciences Group ASG) represented in LowInputBreeds.
Livestock Research has an international reputation in the field of animal husbandry, animal diseases, fisheries and fish culture. Approximately 650 highly qualified members of staff undertake both, specialist or multi-disciplinary research, for a broad range of customers who set great demands on the quality and independence of the research.
It has an annual turnover of about 88 million Euros.
