Aim of the course
The aim of the course is to provide to post graduate students and professionals working in animal breeding the basic theory in genetic evaluation using whole genome data and using it in practical data analyses.

Course outline
Bayesian Methods (Gibbs-, Metropolis-Hastings Sampler), Models to predict SNP effects and map QTL (BayesA, B, C, G-BLUP, Lasso, PLS), Interpretation of SNP Effect estimates, Validation of results, Estimating SNP effects using high and low density SNP panels, imputation. Credit points
- Wageningen 1.5 ECTS (through WIAS)
- Davos: Confirmation of attendance.
Credit points can be obtained through your local post graduate programme.
Costs
- Wageningen: 500 Euro for academia and 1000 Euro for others.
- Davos: 800 CHF for academia and 1300 CHF for others.
The price includes lunch. Dinner and accommodation are not included. After registration you will receive an invoice. Participants are only accepted after receiving their registration fee. If there are not enough people registering for one of the courses, we reserve the right to cancel one or both of them.
