"ORWINE - Organic viticulture and wine-making: development of environment and consumer friendly technologies for organic wine quality improvement and scientifically based legislative framework" is a European funded research project which aims at providing a scientific background for the development of the EU legislative framework and a code of best practices for organic wine production and labelling.

The report contains the compilation of all relevant stakeholder and expert views as well as main results from experimentation and on-farm testing, consumer and market research, which are relevant for the elaborating of the new EU rules for organic wine.

The  European Commission has drafted new rules for organic wine end of June 2009 which are currently commented by the organic sector.
