October 14-15, 2009: Conference 'Organic Cooperation and Research in the Mediterranean' in Italy
The Conference 'Organic Cooperation and Research in the Mediterranean' is held by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari MAIB on October 14 and 15, 2009, in Bari.
The workshop is organised in the framework of the project 'Promotion of domestic and international demand for organic products' financed by the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies MiPAAF in the framework of the Italian action plan for organic agriculture and coordinated by MAIB, the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari.
The aim of the initiative is to provide opportunities for experts and institutions from the Mediterranean working in the organic agriculture field of research.
The workshop discussion will also be based on the findings of a survey about the state-of-the-art of research activities in organic farming carried out in the Mediterranean countries.
The initiative will produce recommendations outlining the priorities for research on organic agriculture in the Mediterranean countries, along with an electronic database and a related list of researchers and research institutions in the Mediterranean
A questionnaire was sent to MOAN representatives and other institutions, MOAN steering committee members, IFOAM ABM (Mediterranean Regional Group), and is available on the website of the Mediterranean Organic Network which is coordinated by MAIB.
